Well, we could always just be homophobes. Would that make you happy?

So we have to choose between homophobes or stalkers/people who think gay sex is taboo and naughty and a thing that exists for their titillation.

Gosh, if only there was some middle ground where gay people could just do whatever the fuck they liked without people FOLLOWING THEM AROUND WITH CAMERAS AND EXPLICITLY IGNORING THEIR INSTRUCTIONS NOT TO PUT THOSE PHOTOS ON FACEBOOK JESUS FUCKING CHRIST.

The fact that anyone could defend that is blowing my fucking mind.

Let’s make one thing clear:

Fetishizing and exploiting homosexual people is just as homophobic as calling them slurs and demonizing what they do.

Do you understand? If not, let’s use an example:

Say we have two people: a white person and a black person. Now, say the white person starts calling the black person by slurs, starts telling them that they can’t drink out of certain water fountains, that they have to sit at the back of the bus, etc. We would say, in that situation, that the white person is racist, yes? Yes. We would.

Now, let’s take those same two people. This time, let’s say that the white person calls the black person cute—and not cute as in, “oh, I think you’re attractive, we should date,” but rather, cute as in, “aw, you’re so adorable, like a little puppy!” Let’s say that the white person decides to take the black person around with them, whether the black person wants to go or not, so that they can be ~seen~ together, basically using the black person like an accessory. Let’s say that the white person takes a bunch of pictures of the black person without his/her permission, so that they can post them up on Facebook, so that others can gawk at them, like they’re on exhibit. Let’s say that although they weren’t acting “hatefully,” the white person was treating the black person like an object, like a thing to be examined and cooed over and, in extreme cases, masturbated to. Would you call that fetishization/objectification racist?

I sure as hell hope so, because it sure as hell is. And just like that disgusting behavior is racist, the disgusting fetishization/objectification of homosexuals is homophobic.

I don’t see how people can’t see this. How anyone could possibly think that stalking, objectifying, and fetishizing fellow human beings is okay. You want to scream out against homophobes for not treating homosexuals like people, but you’re not treating them like people, either! You’re treating them like toys for your own amusement, like the inanimate characters from your favorite yaoi manga. They’re HUMAN BEINGS. They’re PEOPLE. Would YOU like it if someone stalked you, taking pictures of you behind your back? Would YOU like it if someone blasted your private business all over Facebook or Tumblr? Hell no, you wouldn’t! You would screech about them being misogynistic, sexist creepers. So what the HELL makes you think it’s okay for you to do this to anyone else?

And even putting aside the downright criminal behavior of following actual people and taking pictures of them (because really, you sick fucks should be arrested, and you would be if you were a dude doing that to ladies), let’s talking about the second to last post:

Just regular heterosexual sex and nothing taboo or gay or homosexual or anal or yeah.. not much to use your imagination on and shit eah.. no one in the closet or anything… nothing that’s supposed to be hidden and stuff… nothing interesting basically

Where to even begin? Well, let’s start from least problematic to most problematic, shall we?

1. Heterosexuals can have anal sex, too. Believe it or not, women have asses. Beyond that, there are these things called dildos that ladies can strap on and use to peg men. I mean, if we’re going to go from least problematic to most problematic, the least problematic would certainly be that you don’t understand that anal sex can and does happen between heterosexual couples. It is a thing. By the by, women can also top! And you can have sex standing up! You can 69 too! Jesus Christ, I’m not even sexual and I know this. 
2. Romeo and Juliet were a heterosexual couple that was taboo. If you want a ~forbidden love~ use your fucking imagination and make a fucking plot, you unimaginative fucks.
3. Now to get into the more problematic stuff, there should be nothing taboo about homosexuality. In other words, if you only support homosexuality because you’re trying to be a ~rebel~, you are just as bigoted as your (more than likely) homophobic parents. The ONLY difference between homosexual and heterosexual couples is the genitalia involved. That’s IT. These are still PEOPLE, people that are IN LOVE, and honestly, many of the sexual practices can overlap (since, again, heterosexual couples can have anal, women can use strap-ons, etc). You should NOT support homosexuality just because it fits your fetishes, but rather, BECAUSE YOU ARE A DECENT HUMAN BEING THAT UNDERSTANDS THAT PEOPLE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO EXPRESS THEIR LOVE FREELY, WITHOUT PERSECUTION. And while I realize that you could argue, “I’m talking just fictional couples, heterosexuality is just boring in fiction!” the fact that the only reason why homosexuality turns you on is because it’s “wrong” and “forbidden” bothers me, because it makes me wonder about how you view homosexual people in real life. Having kinks is one thing. Projecting those kinks is another, and the two happen disturbingly often. Just look at the rest of the posts in this picture.

I mean, really, this goes beyond my personal belief that characters should be shipped because they work well together and they love each other. This goes into the territory of “you’re viewing homosexual people like pets/objects and it’s sick and you need to knock it off.” This behavior is incredibly skeevy and the fact that Tumblr, which preaches about being an accepting and open place, thinks that it’s A-OK is even moreso.

Seriously, Tumblr. Knock it the fuck off.

I don’t think people realize that ‘shipping’ people because they’re genuinely cute together is not shipping people because you have some weird fetish.

Like, I think a friend of mine, who happens to be gay, would be really cute with this guy he’s friends with. Not because they’re gay, but because they’re cute and I’d totally support them getting together if they did. Similarly, another friend ships me with this guy I have a crush on. That’s fine. That type of stuff is fun to think about.

But if you go around, invading people’s spaces, or making REAL people’s relationships your fetish, there’s something wrong and you need to back the fuck up.
