Herman had managed to get to his feet at last.
“I went looking for the troll because I — I thought I could deal with it on my own — you know, because I’ve read all about them.”
Ron dropped her wand. Herman Granger, telling a downright lie to a teacher?
“If they hadn’t found me, I’d be dead now. Harriet stuck her wand up its nose and Ron knocked it out with its own club. They didn’t have time to come and fetch anyone. It was about to finish me off when they arrived.”
Harriet and Ron tried to look as though this story wasn’t new to them.
“Well — in that case…” said Professor McGonagall, staring at the three of them, “Mr. Granger, you foolish boy, how could you think of tackling a mountain troll on your own?”
Herman hung his head. Harriet was speechless. Herman was the last person to do anything against the rules, and here he was, pretending he had, to get them out of trouble. It was as if Snape had started handing out sweets.”

“It’s no wonder no one can stand him,” she said to Harriet as they pushed their way into the crowded corridor, “he’s a nightmare, honestly.”
Someone knocked into Harriet as they hurried past her. It was Herman. Harriet caught a glimpse of his face — and was startled to see that he was in tears.
“I think he heard you.”
“So?” said Ron, but she looked a bit uncomfortable. “He must’ve noticed he’s got no friends.””

I’m working on gender-swapping the entire Harry Potter series and I’m making it freely available to anyone who wants it!

Please email me at genderswapharrypotter@gmail.com to request a copy and I will send you a text file or pdf of the book(s) I have finished so far. You will also be added to my update list, so I will send you an email when the next book is ready with the file attached. (I would post it online, but copyright makes me wary)

There are likely to be typos and such, so please email me if you spot any and I’ll fix them. If you have any input on better names for the gender-swapped characters, I’d be happy to consider those too.

This is something that could benefit every Potterhead in a very cool way so please reblog this post, share the file with your friends, or like us on facebook to support the project.
